п»їCollege Football Playoff picks after Week 7.
With Georgia and Alabama meeting Saturday, our writers' picks for the College Football Playoff were bound to get shuffled a bit, but following Alabama's 41-24 victory, the lists aren't that different from last week.
Allstate Playoff Predictor.
How will Saturday's top games affect the College Football Playoff chase? What are the current odds for the top four? The Allstate Playoff Predictor has the answers. Check back every week as the odds are updated following that week's games.
Yes, the Bulldogs lost by 17 points, but they also held the lead at half against Nick Saban's squad and still land in over half of our writers' picks again this week.
Most Popular Playoff Picks.
Team (Record) Votes Alabama (4-0) 15/15 Clemson (5-0) 15/15 Ohio State (0-0) 13/15 Georgia (3-1) 8/15 BYU (4-0) 4/15 Cincinnati (3-0) 1/15 Coastal Carolina (4-0) 1/15 Notre Dame (4-0) 1/15 Oklahoma State (3-0) 1/15 Texas A&M (3-1) 1/15.
With the big win in the season's biggest game to this point, Alabama once again lands on everyone's list this week, and that will likely be the case all season unless the Crimson Tide are upset in any upcoming games.
Clemson is also a unanimous pick of the writers after a staggering 73-7 victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence needed only a half to set his career high for passing yards in a game (404). He also threw for five touchdowns in the first half to help solidify the Tigers' spot in college football's top four.
Georgia losing did open up a spot in some of our writers' picks, and we now have the widest range of teams we've had all season.
BYU got multiple votes for the first time this season, while Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M made the picks for the first time in 2020. Notre Dame also received one vote this week.
An idle Ohio State made nearly everyone's picks this week, and the Buckeyes will finally get to prove their spot in the rankings next weekend when they host Nebraska.

Will Muschamp joins Georgia as analyst in reunion with coach Kirby Smart.
Former South Carolina and Florida coach Will Muschamp is joining the Georgia staff as an analyst, coach Kirby Smart told reporters Wednesday.
Smart and Muschamp were teammates at Georgia and colleagues on coaching staffs at Valdosta State and LSU.
Muschamp's role will be that of an off-field coach. Smart said Muschamp will "help coach the coaches" and work on the defensive side of the ball.
"It's very valuable to have a guy who has been a head coach at two places in our conference," Smart said. "He knows the ins and outs of this conference. He'll be able to help our staff, our coaches, in a lot of ways. I'm excited to have him join us."
Editor's Picks.
Which college football teams will return the most production in 2021?
Muschamp was fired by South Carolina in November with three games remaining in his fifth season as head coach. The terms of Muschamp's contract called for a buyout of around $15 million.
He was previously head coach at Florida from 2011 to 2014 and has served as defensive coordinator at Auburn, Texas and LSU.
Georgia finished second in the SEC East last season, going 8-2 and recording a 24-21 win over Cincinnati in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

College Football Playoff picks after Week 15.
With most of the playoff contenders on either a bye or a cancellation, Week 15 provided little to no change in our writers' College Football Playoff picks.
Allstate Playoff Predictor.
How will Saturday's top games affect the College Football Playoff chase? What are the current odds for the top four? The Allstate Playoff Predictor has the answers. Check back every week as the odds are updated following that week's games.
Most Popular Playoff Picks.
Teams (Record) Votes Alabama (10-0) 13/13 Notre Dame (10-0) 13/13 Clemson (9-1) 12/13 Ohio State (5-0) 11/13 Cincinnati (8-0) 2/13 Texas A&M (7-1) 1/13.
The news earlier in the week that Ohio State would be eligible for the Big Ten title game did little to change the minds of three of our writers. Two votes for Cincinnati and another for Texas A&M for the fourth playoff spot keep the Buckeyes from being a unanimous selection this week. It's yet to be known if the College Football Playoff selection committee will hold the lack of games played against Ohio State.
The only team in the top four to play this week was Alabama, and Nick Saban's squad wasted little time proving it's the No. 1 team in the country again. The Crimson Tide rushed for six touchdowns, including two from Heisman candidate Najee Harris, in a 52-3 rout of Arkansas. The SEC championship game and the No. 6 Florida Gators now await Alabama next Saturday.
Two of the mainstays in the writers' rankings this season, Notre Dame and Clemson, will meet next Saturday in the ACC championship game. The last time the two teams met, the Fighting Irish outlasted the Tigers, 47-40, at home in double overtime. This game will likely have the biggest impact on the final CFP rankings unless Florida upsets Alabama that night.
Also on Saturday, Ohio State will take on No. 14 Northwestern in the Big Ten title game while Cincinnati will face Tulsa in the AAC title game. Texas A&M will be at home, rooting for every result that gives it a path to the final spot in the top four.
The College Football Playoff semifinals will be played on Jan. 1 at the Rose Bowl (5 p.m., ESPN and ESPN App) and Allstate Sugar Bowl (8 p.m., ESPN and ESPN App.).
Andrea Adelson: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Kyle Bonagura: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Bill Connelly: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Ohio State, 4. Cincinnati Heather Dinich: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State David M. Hale: 1. Notre Dame, 2. Alabama, 3. Clemson, 4. Cincinnati Sam Khan Jr.: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Texas A&M Chris Low: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Harry Lyles Jr.: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Adam Rittenberg: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Alex Scarborough: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Mark Schlabach: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Tom VanHaaren: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Dave Wilson: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State.

College Football Playoff picks after Week 13.
The biggest impact to our writers' picks this week actually came off the field.
Allstate Playoff Predictor.
How will Saturday's top games affect the College Football Playoff chase? What are the current odds for the top four? The Allstate Playoff Predictor has the answers. Check back every week as the odds are updated following that week's games.
Most Popular Playoff Picks.
Team (Record) Votes Alabama (8-0) 14/14 Notre Dame (9-0) 14/14 Clemson (8-1) 13/14 Ohio State (4-0) 10/14 Cincinnati (8-0) 3/14 Florida (7-1) 1/14 Texas A&M (6-1) 1/14.
The Ohio State Buckeyes, who had been a unanimous selection in each week since the Big Ten announced its return, had their game against Illinois canceled. This puts the Buckeyes at risk to miss the six games needed to qualify for the Big Ten title game, which would hurt their College Football Playoff chances. Ohio State will have to get its next two games in to hit the six-game threshold set forth by the Big Ten at the start of the condensed season. Head coach Ryan Day recently tested positive for COVID-19, so the team might be pressed to complete its schedule over the final two weeks.
Due to these circumstances, multiple teams that were on the cusp have climbed into the picks this week. The Cincinnati Bearcats grabbed three votes during their bye, and Florida and Texas A&M both jumped into the ranks after big wins on Saturday.
There were only two unanimous selections in Week 13, and both teams impressed during the holiday weekend. Alabama turned the Iron Bowl into a rout as Mac Jones threw five touchdown passes in a 42-13 win. Notre Dame also proved worthy of its rank by holding No. 19 North Carolina and Sam Howell to only 58 yards in the second half of a 31-17 victory at Chapel Hill.
Trevor Lawrence returned for Clemson and delivered a convincing 52-17 win over Pittsburgh. The Tigers land in 13 lists, while Ohio State still has the confidence of 10 of our writers.
Andrea Adelson: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Kyle Bonagura: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Bill Connelly: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Ohio State, 4. Cincinnati Heather Dinich: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State David M. Hale: 1. Notre Dame, 2. Alabama, 3. Clemson, 4. Cincinnati Sam Khan Jr.: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Florida Tom VanHaaren: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State Dave Wilson: 1. Alabama, 2. Notre Dame, 3. Clemson, 4. Ohio State.
